#Thunderdome: The Executive Presentation

On the last scheduled day of class, teams will deliver a 10-minute presentation to the executive leadership team. Submit your PowerPoint deck for review and make a clear, credible case for your three chosen scenarios.

What your presentation must include

  1. Project Outcome: Describe the three chosen scenarios and why they were selected. Articulate revenue and payback at the project level for these three scenarios together. You may choose to finish with the outcome slide.
  2. Overview of the individual scenarios: Include the following figures for each chosen scenario:
    • Startup Costs ($M) — Setup Fee for the turnkey scenario
    • Recurring Annual Costs ($M)
    • Annual Recurring Revenue ($M)
    • 5-Year Total Revenue ($M)
    • 5-Year Total Costs ($M)
    • Net Profit Over 5 Years ($M)
    • Profit Margin
    • ROI
    • Payback Period
  3. Detailed explanation of the restated figures: Explain how the adjustments were made, including the concrete actions and evidence that support your revised costs and revenue.

How the winner is determined

The winner is determined by project-level statistics. Strive for the highest revenue and shortest payback period. You must state how you will reach these goals, and your proposed means must be reasonable. Improved numbers need a credible business explanation.

Required upload before class

You must upload your presentation prior to class using the assignment’s upload feature. Upload one deck per team. Any team that fails to upload before the showcase will be disqualified, and all team members will receive a “0” for the showcase assignment.

Presentation expectations

  • Not all team members are required to speak. Choose the speaking roles that best support your team’s delivery.
  • You are encouraged to create a polished deck with high production quality, using purposeful visuals, clear financial summaries, and a coherent recommendation.
  • You may record your presentation. The 10-minute limit and presentation expectations also apply to recorded presentations.
  • Explain your recommendation; do not read the screen word for word. Presentations in which participants read the screen content word for word will be asked to stop and will be penalized.
