THEME 3: LEADING WELL
Let's start by defining CSR or Corporate Social Responsibility. Corporate Social Responsibility, or CSR, is a framework for balancing the drive for profit while increasing a company's positive social and environmental impact:
Welcome to the CSRSim! To get started, please break into teams and complete the CSRSim Worksheet.
Step 1: As a team create a company. The company you create will compete over four quarters (or one hypothetical Fiscal Year). You can select any sector or type of business. Note that you will be sharing your company information with the other teams!
Step 2: Name your company - it's all about the sizzle!
Step 3: Create a logo
Step 4: Identify the number of employees you will have. The brackets available are 1 -2, 2 - 10, and 11 - 50 +.
Step 5: Project your anticipated salary spend. Please use the simplified bracketing of small, medium, or large.
Step 6: Project the other anticipated recurring costs using the same simplified bracketing of small, medium, or large.
Step 7: Will you seek B Corp, ISO certification, or be a traditional bottom line company?
Step 8: Quantify your company's committment to People, Planet, and Profit using the bracketing of none, small, medium, or large.
Step 9: Construct a brief Vision statement
Step 10: Construct a Mission statement
While many businesses continue to operate on a single bottom line and shareholder basis, over the past several decades many businesses have expanded the traditional bottom line (focused solely on profit) to one that also includes people and planet. Accordingly, this view is referred to as the Triple Bottom Line or TBL.
