INT 220 · Four Lands Team Project

Save Venturea

Evaluate eight proposals. Reimagine two. Design one. Defend your plan.

Use the exact class-section name supplied by your instructor. Divide scenarios among teammates on different laptops. Use Save this scenario or Save this proposal; use Refresh team progress to see teammates’ latest work. Avoid editing the same scenario at the same time. Browser drafts stay on this device; shared saves need the PHP files on the course server. Download a backup at the end of each session.

The mission

Venturea is a Colorado-based renewable energy company offering solar panels, wind turbines, and grid storage. Its mission combines innovation, sustainability, and wider access to clean energy. In this fictional case, a pullback in domestic support threatens the business. Targeted international expansion must help secure its future.

A good-looking operating margin is not enough. Setup costs, five-year returns, country fit, and risk can turn a promising proposal into a poor investment. The eight original scenarios must all be rejected under the project rules. Your task is to explain why, then develop a credible rescue plan.

The original conversation graphics are included. The audio clip has been omitted. Country profiles are fictional case evidence; use real-world research to test mechanisms and cost assumptions.

Organize your team

The lead coordinates decisions and flags participation concerns to the instructor. The scribe maintains the shared record and presentation. Everyone contributes analysis and helps defend the final proposal.

  1. Round 1: Evaluate all eight original scenarios. Record an evidence-based rejection for each, using no more than 300 words per scenario.
  2. Round 2: Reimagine two distinct original scenarios and build one new scenario for any of the Four Lands.
  3. Executive review: Use the three-scenario summary to create and submit a PowerPoint deck, then deliver a 10-minute presentation.

Budget ceiling: $120 million in combined five-year costs for the final portfolio, including setup and recurring expenses. Use Venturea’s share of joint-venture costs and revenue.
