A piece for the SNHU Faculty Jazz Combo
Lost Cairns
Cairns can guide us through uncertain terrain, but they can also mark a place where we pause, reflect, and make sense of what is happening. Rediscovering lost cairns can be healing.

About the Piece
Lost Cairns was inspired by the idea that small markers can become meaningful companions on a journey. A cairn may point the way forward, but it may also invite us to stop and remember where we have been.
The piece treats the cairn as both guidepost and gathering place: a sign of direction, a moment of shelter, and a quiet space for understanding.
To rediscover a lost cairn is to find that guidance and healing can still be waiting in the places we thought we had passed by.
